This project arose from an exploration of the intersubjective acoustic space. There is an interconnection between the sound source and the person listening; these two co-create the meaning of what is heard. What does this sound like to you? The meaning may change with time, your mood, the space, etc.

It is also a meditation on accessibility. Eleven phrases are translated from one language (संस्कृतम्, Sanksrit) into five more (English, Spanish, French, Catalan, and Italian), which should facilitate understanding, but with so many layers of sound an unexpected element is created: chaos. The drone (created with harmonium and tanpura) dances through the acoustic space without staying still or stable, juxtaposing the stability of the sound and its mobility.

The relationship between the different elements alters their meaning. It is not the same to listen to a sentence in a specific context as to listen to it isolated from all context (quite impossible in real life, as there is always a context). In this case the sounds themselves, and the listening space, play a role in the perception of the sound and the creation of meaning.

Este proyecto parte de una exploración del espacio acústico intersubjetivo. Hay una interconexión entre la fuente sonora y la persona oyente; éstas dos co-crean el significado de lo que se escucha. ¿A qué suena para ti? El significado puede cambiar con el tiempo, el estado de ánimo, el espacio, etc.

También funciona como una meditación sobre la accesibilidad. Once frases son traducidas de un idioma (संस्कृतम्, sánscrito) a cinco idiomas más (inglés, español, francés, catalán e italiano), cosa que debería facilitar la comprensión pero, con tantas capas de sonido se genera un elemento inesperado: el caos. El hilo conductor del drone (bordón de sonido, creado con harmonium y tanpura) va bailando dentro del espacio acústico sin quedarse quieto ni estable, yuxtaponiendo la estabilidad del sonido y su movilidad.

La relación entre los diferentes elementos altera su significado. No es lo mismo escuchar una frase en un contexto específico que escucharla aislada de todo contexto (cosa de hecho imposible en la vida real, ya que siempre hay un contexto). En este caso los propios sonidos y el espacio de escucha también juegan un papel en la percepción del sonido y la creación del significado.
